Nathaniel Springer

University of Minnesota, Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering

Dr. Springer is an economist working as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering.  His interdisciplinary research on global food systems spans the fields of input-output economics, life cycle assessment, industrial ecology, ecological economics, and sustainability science.  He also worked on the UC Davis Sustainable Sourcing project, hosted by the Agricultural Sustainability Institute and the Information Center for the Environment, and helped developed a prototype informatics framework and decision-support tool for assisting organizations in semantically organizing and selecting an efficient set of sustainability issues and indicators.
