University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (UC SAREP)

Dr. Sonja Brodt coordinates the Agriculture, Resources, and the Environment theme for the University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program, a component of the Agricultural Sustainability Institute at UC Davis. Sonja’s goal is to integrate social science and agroecology perspectives to design sustainable food and farming systems for the future. Major recent research and outreach initiatives include life cycle assessment of environmental impacts of California food production and supply chains, nitrogen pollution and nutrient management in agriculture, supply chain sustainability, and agroforestry. She holds a PhD in Geography, a Masters in International Agricultural Development, and a Bachelors in Biology.
